Gary Bagley, Vice President of the Bucksport Historical Society and Co-Chair of the paper mill museum working group, is a Bucksport native. He spent 16 years teaching social studies at Winslow Junior High School then entered the U.S. Foreign Service. During the span of his 28 year diplomatic career, he served at eight U.S. Embassies in Africa, Europe and South America as well as two tours in the State Department. He retired in 2012 as Diplomat-in-Residence at UCLA.
