Mill Museum holds soft opening event
The Bucksport Paper Mill Museum held a soft opening event on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, and the following day Tuesday, September 3. The event provided a chance for the public to see the work that has been done on the gatehouse building so far.
Mill Museum to hold soft opening event
Interested in getting an early look at the Bucksport Paper Mill Museum? The gatehouse building will be open to the public on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 10am to 5pm, and the following day, Tuesday, September 3, from 10am to 2pm.
Lunch basket hanging event
Among the artifacts on display at the museum are heirloom lunch baskets and pails carried by former mill workers. The first basket was hung by Wesley “Chip” Stubbs, Mill Museum Restoration Foreman, on August 20 and was the basket carried by his father Charlton P. Stubbs.
Looking for lunch pails
The Bucksport Paper Mill Museum is seeking donations of mill workers' lunch pails. These will be suspended from the ceiling of the museum with the name of the worker and the dates of his or her employment written on the pail.
Artist Ben Lincoln donates drawing to Mill Museum
At the Bucksport Town Council meeting on August 8, 2024, artist Ben Lincoln presented his drawing, Decommissioning, which depicts the early stages of the demolition of the Bucksport Paper Mill.

Join our gatehouse renovation crew
We are looking for volunteers to help us transform the former paper mill gatehouse building into the Bucksport Paper Mill Museum. Weekly work sessions are scheduled every Tuesday this summer from 8am to noon. Drop by and see what we have been up to and lend a hand.

Carolyn Zachary, assistant editor of The Republican Journal, donated a silkscreen print by the late Maine artist Francis Hamabe to the Bucksport Paper Mill Museum.
Ranzoni donates royalties to preserve papermaking history
Patricia Smith Ranzoni, Bucksport Poet Laureate, presented the first donation of over $2200 in royalties from her anthology: STILL MILL: Poems, Stories & Songs of Making Paper in Bucksport, Maine 1930-2014, to the Bucksport Historical Society President Ed Buck at the May 7, 2018 meeting.
