Town Resolve & Recognition of 10th Anniversary of Mill Closing & Support for Mill Museum
December 12, 2024
It was a raw, windy night with some citizens still without power when the Bucksport Town Council commenced taking up business beginning with a resolve in remembrance of the December 17, 2014 last shift and closing of the Bucksport paper mill.
Pat and Ed Ranzoni of the Working Group represented the Mill Museum to receive a proclamation composed by Town Manager Sue Lessard and read by Mayor Paul Bissonnette. They accepted on behalf of the Museum Working Group, donors, and renovation crew to whom they will be presenting the citation at the 10th Anniversary on December 17, to which the public is invited.
On the way home, attendees drove by the new banner announcing the 10th anniversary event that Larry Wahl of the Mill Museum Working Group and Rich Rotella, Bucksport Community and Economic Development Director, installed overlooking the Memorial Site Intersection on Main Street.
Earlier that day, the week's issue of the Enterprise with a full page feature honoring former mill workers, thanking donors and volunteers, and inviting participation, was published.
