Envisioning the future museum
June 8, 2024
On Saturday, June 8, members of the Bucksport Paper Mill Museum Working group and others who are interested in supporting the museum, gathered in the gatehouse building that will be the future home of the museum.
Restoration foreman Chip Stubbs led a walk-through of the building and provided information on the work done so far and next steps. Chip plans to work on the building every Tuesday morning through the summer. Interested in helping? Contact Chip at chip9516@gmail.com or 207-299-5291.
Julia Gray, Executive Director of the Wilson Museum in Castine, led a visioning process to begin generating ideas for exhibits. This process generated some great conversation about possible themes for exhibits and how to create interactive exhibits that incorporate different senses. There was also discussion of how to create exhibits that will appeal to different audiences and age groups.
