Rick Doyle

Rick Doyle lives in Bucksport with his wife Shannon. He is the managing attorney at a small nonprofit and has served on the Maine Commission on Domestic and Sexual Abuse, as well as on the boards of Bucksport Bay Healthy Communities Coalition and New Surry Theatre. His poetry, which has been published in numerous journals, won a SpiritWord Honors Award from the Maine Poetries Collective. His plays have been read or performed at the Acorn School of Performing Arts, Stonington Opera House, Penobscot Theatre, New Surry Theatre, and other venues.  A one-act play, Regalia, was selected for reading in the Maine Playwrights’ Festival; it was subsequently published in At Play: An Anthology of Maine Drama. Other samples of Rick’s writing can be found in Still Mill and in an upcoming anthology from Twelve Willows Press. Rick worked two summers at St. Regis and later planted spruce and fir on Champion woodlands Down East. His paternal grandfather, mother, brother, and several uncles worked at mills in Bucksport, Brewer, and Millinocket.
